God can use me if I am willing to just listen.

Sometimes I think we’re using the wrong auto-correct when we try to commune with God. We think we know his expectations, so we hear what we think he should be saying.

If our motives are pride and selfish ambition, we are like an apple pie made with chili powder. 

This is why Jesus Christ died. It was so we could be saved from our hiding, our alienation, our boundaries of comfort that end up dividing us and hurting others.

They had suffered as slaves for so long that it was easy to see themselves as insignificant. They had a victim mentality.
